La epidemia no se los llev\u00f3, los trajo de vuelta<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Cuando pensamos en el g\u00e9nero zombi<\/em> siempre nos viene a la mente las fabulosas pel\u00edculas de George A. Romero, el m\u00edtico videojuego \u201cResident Evil\u201d (Spin-offs, cuarta y quinta entrega a parte) o la exitosa serie televisiva \u201cThe Walking Dead\u201d, donde los zombis <\/em>acosan y hacen peligrar la vida de los protagonistas de la historia. Pero, fij\u00e1ndonos en el escenario del \u201ccrimen\u201d, casi siempre los hechos ocurren en lugares como Estados Unidos, Inglaterra o Tokyo a mucho estirar.<\/p>\n

Pues bien, \u00e9ste libro nos pondr\u00e1 en un escenario que muchos de nosotros ya conocemos: Espa\u00f1a. Tal y como ya hab\u00eda hecho el exitoso \u201cApocalipsis Z\u201d dos a\u00f1os atr\u00e1s, \u201cLos caminantes\u201d nos pone en un territorio espa\u00f1ol devastado por una epidemia zombi. No importar\u00e1 (de momento) ni el c\u00f3mo ni porqu\u00e9 los zombis<\/em> se apoderaron del mundo entero mas si sabremos que pas\u00f3 con ciertas resistencias iniciales a la epidemia.<\/p>\n

A partir de esta premisa, nos pondr\u00e1n en la piel de Juan Aranda, Isabel, Moses, \u201cEl Cojo\u201d<\/em> y dem\u00e1s personajes, cada cual m\u00e1s entra\u00f1able que el anterior. Todos ellos se encontrar\u00e1n envueltos en un manto de terror y de violencia capaz de enloquecer al m\u00e1s cuerdo, sobretodo si nos encontramos en la ciudad en la que hemos vivido gran parte de nuestra vida y tenemos que enfrentarnos a familiares, amigos y conocidos en estado de zombificaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Y en medio de todo este \u201cCaos\u201d nos encontraremos a una figura devota de Dios: el Padre Isidro. \u00c9ste personaje ser\u00e1 el N\u00e9mesis de los malague\u00f1os a\u00fan humanos, ya que gracias al \u201cDon\u201d y la \u201cMisi\u00f3n\u201d se cree que se le han sido entregados, tales como poder andar entre los zombis sin despertar en ellos inter\u00e9s alguno y \u201cJuzgar a los imp\u00edos con el Ej\u00e9rcito del Se\u00f1or\u201d respectivamente. Aqu\u00ed empezar\u00e1 el verdadero horror de los supervivientes cu\u00e1ndo este ser empiece a perseguirlos con un ej\u00e9rcito de muertos vivientes sedientos de sangre.<\/p>\n

La caracterizaci\u00f3n de los personajes es b\u00e1sica en el transcurso de la novela. Sis\u00ed hace especial \u00e9nfasis en la descripci\u00f3n tanto f\u00edsica como psicol\u00f3gica de los distintos supervivientes de la pandemia, tanto protagonistas como personajes que van a morir a la vuelta de la esquina. Esa \u201cactitud\u201d del autor nos hace entrar en una mayor tensi\u00f3n que en la gran mayor\u00eda de obras del g\u00e9nero, ya que en \u00e9stas se hace \u00e9nfasis en un personaje (el principal) que sobrevive a todo tipo de circunstancias. Aqu\u00ed queda claro que puede morir cualquiera.<\/p>\n

La trama se encuentra tan elaborada como la profundidad psicol\u00f3gica de los supervivientes de lo largo de la historia. No s\u00f3lo es elaborada con ciertos giros argumentales marcados por el horror y el caos de los acontecimientos, sino que tiene la capacidad de enganchar a qui\u00e9n empieza a leer el libro c\u00f3mo si de la t\u00edpica serie pegadiza se tratase pero con un argumento de pel\u00edcula de Hollywood. Nunca sabremos c\u00f3mo acaba el libro (sin finalizarlo antes) que sumado a los giros bruscos y los cambios de localizaci\u00f3n espaciotemporales, nos conducir\u00e1n r\u00e1pida e indudablemente al incre\u00edble final que nos aguarda en las \u00faltimas p\u00e1ginas.<\/p>\n

Quiz\u00e1 la primera parte es la m\u00e1s dura de leer para aquellos que no estamos demasiado acostumbrados a navegar por el \u201cg\u00e9nero zombi\u201d, pero r\u00e1pidamente nos acabaremos situando con las desgracias, angustias y terror que nos provocan estos seres. Aunque no debemos de esperar menos agresividad de este t\u00edtulo, porque la portada de \u00e9ste ya nos indica que no todo nos dar\u00e1n un respiro de tranquilidad.<\/p>\n

C\u00f3mo primera parte de la trilog\u00eda de \u201cLos Caminantes\u201d, esta novela cumple con todas las expectativas de aquellos que nos lancemos a su lectura. Hace poco que se volvi\u00f3 a sacar este exitoso libro en formato digital y en ingl\u00e9s para los lectores interesados de esta nueva oleada de literatura zombi castellana.<\/p>\n

When we think in the \u201czombie<\/em>\u201d genre we always remember the fabulous movies of George A. Romero, the mythical videogame \u201cResident Evil<\/em>\u201d (Forget some of the Spin Off and the fourth and fifth game) or the successful TV Series \u201cThe Walking Dead<\/em>\u201d, where the zombies harass and make danger to our protagonist\u2019s lives. However, if we take a look in the scenery of the \u201ccrime\u201d, it will always happen in places like the EUA, England or Tokyo.<\/p>\n
So, this book will let us in scenery that is known by many of us: Spain. Like \u201cApocalipsis Z\u201d had done two years ago, \u201cLos caminantes\u201d let us in a Spanish territory destroyed by the zombie epidemic. It doesn\u2019t mind (by the moment) why or when the zombies get the world control, but we will know what had happened with some initial resistance to the epidemic.<\/p>\n
Beginning with this premise, the book will take on the role of Juan Aranda, Isabel, Moses, \u201cEl cojo\u201d<\/em> and the others characters, each one more charming than the last. All of them will be wrapped in terror and violence spiral capable to become crazy to the sanest, especially if we are in the city where we have lived much of our life and we have to confront with our familiars, friends and known in zombification state.<\/p>\n
And in the middle of all this \u201cChaos\u201d we will find with a God\u2019s devoted figure: the Isidro Priest. This character will be the Nemesis of the human from M\u00e1laga because Isidro thinks that he has a Mission (Judge the wicked with the Army of God) with his Gift: Walk between the zombies with arouses any interest in him. Here will begin the truly horror of the survivors when this priest will begin to hunt them with an undead army.<\/p>\n
The Characterization of the characters and their relationship are tribal in the course of the novel. Sis\u00ed has done special emphasis in the physical and psychological description of the survivors of the pandemic without differentiate the protagonists of the characters that are going to die just around the corner This \u201cattitude\u201d let us get into a higher tension than in others books of the same genre, because there only the main character survives and is only him who is perfectly described. In this book everyone can die.<\/p>\n
The plot is so elaborate like the psychological depth of the survivors around the story.\u00a0 There isn\u2019t only elaborated with some twists marked by the horror and the chaos of the events, but it has the ability to hook who has beginning to read the book, like some sticky TV series but with a Hollywood movie plot. We can\u2019t ever know how the book will end (before finishing it), the huge twists and the changes of the space and temporal situation will get us quickly at the fantastic ending that is waiting us in the lasts pages.<\/p>\n
Maybe the first part of the book is the more hard to read for everyone who is not habituated to navigate in the \u201cZombie genre\u201d, but we will situate quickly with the disgraces, anxieties and terror that those things will induce us. Although we should not expect less aggressiveness of this title, for the cover of this already tells us that not everything will give us a peaceful break.<\/p>\n
As a first part of the \u201cCaminantes\u201d trilogy, this novel satisfies with all the expectations of those who launch at reading it. Recently this book has been released for e-books and it has a perfectly English translation for the readers interested in this new round of Spanish zombie literature.<\/p>\n
