\n<\/a>Como coment\u00f3 una compa\u00f1era de \u201ccarlospuech.com.es\u201d este mismo agosto: los planes antidopaje cada vez est\u00e1n siendo m\u00e1s efectivos y duros con los deportistas que\u00a0\u00a0han consumido sustancias ilegales. Esta vez, nos hemos encontrado en el punto de mira de la Agencia de Antidopaje de los Estados Unidos (USADA) al \u201cTejano\u201d, al \u201cBig Tex\u201d, a Lance Amstrong.<\/p>\n

El legendario ciclista anunci\u00f3 el 24 de Agosto que dejar\u00eda de recurrir a las acusaciones de dopaje por parte de la USADA. \u00c9ste organismo llevaba una d\u00e9cada intentando acusar a Amstrong de dopaje, pero no hab\u00eda conseguido dejar nada claro hasta ahora pese a los m\u00faltiples an\u00e1lisis y las declaraciones de los compa\u00f1eros de equipo de Lance. Amstrong hace referencia a la gran \u201ccacer\u00eda\u201d que ha sufrido al triunfar en el ciclismo despu\u00e9s de superar un c\u00e1ncer de test\u00edculo.<\/div>\n

Quiz\u00e1 su \u00e9xito posterior fue provocado por los medicamentos que tuvo que tomar Amstrong para no fallecer, o quiz\u00e1 sus siete victorias consecutivas en el Tour de Francia fueron realmente una muestra del esfuerzo y motivaci\u00f3n que emprendi\u00f3 el tejano en 1999 y finaliz\u00f3 en 2005.<\/div>\n

Puede que su gloria fuera una mezcla de ambos factores, pero de lo que tenemos que estar seguros es que la USADA ha conseguido que toda esa \u201cfama\u201d pase a \u201cverg\u00fcenza\u201d, porque Amstrong puede perder todos los t\u00edtulos que hab\u00eda conseguido abarcar desde 1998, entre ellos cabe destacar los siete Tours de Francia y una medalla de bronce de S\u00eddney 2000 tal y como pas\u00f3 con Floyd Landis, ganador del Tour del 2006 sancionado al dar positivo en testosterona y no ser\u00eda hasta 2007 que Oscar Pereiro pudiera vestir el maillot amarillo.<\/div>\n

Travis Tygart, director de la USADA afirma que se le aplicar\u00e1 en breves una sanci\u00f3n de por vida y retirar\u00e1n todos los t\u00edtulos que Amstrong ha obtenido desde 1998, por lo que podr\u00e1 conservar la medalla de oro conseguida en Oslo 1993. Tygart apoya la decisi\u00f3n de Amstrong porque la USADA ten\u00eda \u201csuficientes pruebas\u201d para incriminarlo, adem\u00e1s de a\u00f1adir que nunca habr\u00edan insistido tanto en un caso si no tuviesen la certeza de que estaban en el buen camino.<\/div>\n

Buen camino o no, lo que la USADA ha conseguido es derrocar a un deportista de \u00e9lite con sus pruebas o con sus catorce a\u00f1os de acusaciones y de persecuciones. Los que quedaron segundos en el Tour de Francia entre 1998-2005 pueden estar contentos de haber ganado esta competici\u00f3n tan mitificada, aunque en estos casos siempre queda pensar que los hilos se han estado moviendo para favorecer los intereses de algunos ciclistas.<\/div>\n

Y estos \u00faltimos pensamientos no s\u00f3lo lo pensamos unos pocos, sino que profesionales como Oscar Pereiro hace referencia que las acusaciones de los compa\u00f1eros de equipo de Amstrong lo hicieron para no ser sancionados tan duramente. Y para finalizar, en sus \u00faltimas declaraciones el corredor espa\u00f1ol afirma que el manager de Alberto Contador y ganador del Tour de 1996 admiti\u00f3 doparse (Bjarne Riis) y la USADA no realiz\u00f3 nada para retirarle la victoria.<\/div>\n

As a colleague of \u201ccarlospuech.com.es\u201d said this August:\u00a0\u00a0the anti-doping organizations are more effective and tougher than ever with the sportsmen who take illegal substances.\u00a0\u00a0This time, we have the \u201cTexan,\u201d the \u201cBig Tex,\u201d better known as Lance Armstrong, in the spotlight of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).<\/em><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The legendary cyclist announced on August 24th<\/sup>, 2012 that he would not fight the accusations of doping by the USADA. This organization has tried for a decade to accuse Armstrong of doping, despite the blood analysis and the declarations of his team partners. Armstrong complains about the witch-hunt he endured to succeed in pro cycling after Testicular Cancer.<\/em><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Perhaps all his later triumphs were a consequence of the drugs Armstrong had taken not to die, or maybe his seven victories in \u201cLe Tour de France\u201d were really a result of the efforts undertaken by the Texan between 1998 to 2005.\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n

His glory may be a result of the two factors, but what is certain is that USADA has turned all this \u201cfame\u201d to \u201cshame\u201d because Armstrong has just lost all his \u201cMajor Wins\u201d since 1998, including seven France Tours and the Bronze medal he won in Sydney 2000. It is the same situation as with the winner of the \u201cTour de France\u201d in 2006, when Floyd Landis got positive in a testosterone test. Until 2007, Oscar Pereiro could not wear the yellow jersey.\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n

Travis Tygart, chief executive of the USADA says they will apply a life ban and will retire all the titles that Armstrong won since 1998, but he can keep his Gold Medal from Oslo 1993. Tygart supports Armstrong\u2019s decision because the USADA had \u201cenough proof\u201d to incriminate him, adding that they would never have insisted so much in a case if they weren\u00b4t certain they were on the right track.\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n

Right or wrong, the USADA has brought down an elite sportsman with their tests or with their fourteen years of accusations and persecution. The seconds on all the Tours de France between \u201998 and \u201905 can be happy in the knowledge they have won this prestigious competition, but in those cases there will always be a suspicion that strings were pulled to favour certain cyclists\u2019 interests.<\/em><\/div>\n

We are not the only ones who think like that, even professionals like Oscar Pereiro says that the accusations from the Armstrong\u2019s team partner were made to avoid being sanctioned. Finally, in his last declaration, the Spanish cyclist says that the Alberto\u2019s Contador Manager and winner of the \u201996 Tour (Bjarne Riis) admitted he had been doped, but the USADA did nothing to take away his victory.<\/em><\/div>\n

One of the most important Anti-doping investigations has finished and unfortunately, the professional career of the most acclaimed cyclist of all times could also be finished.<\/em><\/div>\n
